The town of Ungheni will host the third stage of the National Off-Road Championship, the District Council announced on 20 August. The organiser is the “Bizon Off Road Ungheni” Public Association.
According to the District Council, the indicated period for the competition is 22–23 August. The sports calendar approved by the Ministry of Education and Research had scheduled the same stage for 29–30 August.
Preparations
District president Dionisie Ternovschi convened a working meeting with representatives of the organising association, the District Council and the responsible institutions. The meeting discussed measures to ensure the competition runs safely: maintaining public order, protecting participants and spectators, and coordinating between authorities and organisers.
The championship in numbers
Off-road racing is organised under the National Off-Road Commission (CNOR), part of the Automobile Federation of the Republic of Moldova. The 2026 championship has five stages at national level: the first was held in Ialoveni (9–10 May), the second in Bălți (13–14 June). After Ungheni come Telenești (26–27 September) and a fifth stage whose venue is yet to be decided (18–19 October).
Motocross and off-road in the same period
Also in Ungheni, on 30 August, the third stage of the motocross championship takes place — a separate event, under the Motorcycling Federation of the Republic of Moldova. Both competitions fall within the Municipality Days of Ungheni (20–31 August).
