The Ungheni district council is selling off part of its public property. On 23 June, the institution holds an open-outcry auction for three building complexes together with their land — in the village of Bușila, the town of Cornești and the village of Curtoaia. The largest of them is the Bușila lot: six structures and 40 ares of land, offered from 400,000 lei.
What is actually for sale
On Facebook, the auction was promoted as the sale of a “40-are plot” in Bușila. The district council’s official notice puts it more precisely: it is not bare land being sold, but a complex of immovable property — buildings plus the land beneath them.
In Bușila, the lot includes a main structure of 590 square metres designated a “public and administrative building” and five more outbuildings (from 16.2 to 56.9 square metres each) on 0.4045 hectares — that is, the roughly 40 ares from the promotion. The starting price is 400,000 lei, which works out to about 10,000 lei per are for the whole ensemble of buildings and land combined.
The other two lots are smaller. In Cornești, on Ștefan cel Mare și Sfînt Street, a 206.3-square-metre building is on offer with 0.0957 hectares of land and 36 standing trees — pines, thuja, walnut and maple — also from 400,000 lei. In Curtoaia, Condrătești commune, the lot consists of a 233.1-square-metre building and 0.1089 hectares, at the lowest price of the three: 120,000 lei. All three are classed as land “for the placement of public structures,” district public property in the private domain — the category of assets a public authority is allowed to dispose of.
How the auction works
The open-outcry auction takes place on 23 June 2026 at 10.00, at the premises of the Ungheni district council, 11 Națională Street in the municipality. “Open outcry” means the price rises in steps, through bids called out aloud, with the lot going to whoever offers the most above the starting price.
Anyone wishing to take part must submit their documents by 22 June at 10.00 — the day before the auction. Two more conditions involve money: a deposit equal to 10% of the lot’s starting price, and a participation fee of 600 lei for individuals and 1,200 lei for legal entities. For the Bușila lot, for instance, the deposit comes to 40,000 lei. Prospective bidders can inspect the property on site and request clarifications at the district council, by phone at +373 68279646 and (0236) 22058.
Why it matters
For the district, the sale means money in the budget: if all three lots go for at least the starting price, the district council takes in a minimum of 920,000 lei, plus any premiums from the bidding. For residents, the question is what becomes of public buildings that, once they go under the hammer, pass out of the authority’s hands — a new owner may bring them back into use or leave them to decay further.
The notice does not say what these buildings once housed, nor which district council decision underlies their being put up for auction. That information is held at the source; Triunghi.md had not obtained it by the time of publication.
