Ungheni education trade union joins national protest over salaries
The Executive Bureau of the district's education trade-union structure, led by Lilia Savin, decided on 10 August to back the protest calendar announced by the Federation of Education and Science Trade Unions — from picketing the Government on 19 August to a possible boycott of celebrations on 5 October. The reason: the salary increases promised to teachers for 1 September have become uncertain. What the trade union demands, what the Government answers, and what it means for the district's nearly 900 teachers.
