In the Ungheni Deal neighbourhood, installation of new public street lighting is starting: 5,000 metres of cable and 200 lamps, Ungheni City Hall says. The work follows the replacement of the neighbourhood’s electricity poles by RED-Nord.
The installation is being done by Servicii Comunale Ungheni, a company wholly owned by the municipality. According to City Hall, the work will take 3–4 weeks.
Lights return street by street
The lighting will not come on across the whole neighbourhood at once. City Hall says the lights will be restored in stages, on each street separately, one after another. While the work is under way, some streets in Ungheni Deal may already have new lighting while others are still without it.
The announcement does not say in which order the streets will be done, how much the work costs or what money pays for it. The only public marker for completing the installation is the estimate of 3–4 weeks.
