On 28 August, on the municipality’s patron saint’s day, over 1500 Ungheni residents marched through the city centre in the Celebration Parade, third edition. The figure was reported by Ungheni Municipality.
The column brought together public institution employees, artistic ensembles of the Palace of Culture and other participants. The Ungheni Palace of Culture appeared with all its artistic groups — dance, music, creative arts — while the Raional Council participated with its own team. Mayor Vitalie Vrabie publicly acknowledged the event, thanking the participants.
The parade, organised for the third consecutive year, gathered over 1500 participants in a locality with a population of around 26,400, according to the 2024 census. Some participants may have come from neighbouring localities.
The event is part of the Ungheni Municipality Days programme, running from 20 to 31 August, which marks 564 years since the first documentary attestation of the settlement.
