History climbed onto the stage in „Micul Cluj” Park in Ungheni. On Wednesday evening, 2 July, the audience was invited to the show „On the Trail of Stephen the Voivode,” dedicated to the memory of Voivode Stephen the Great and Holy — an evening of music, poetry, theatre and folk dance.
Local ensembles took the stage — the „Armonia” choir and the „Struguraș” folk dance ensemble from Ungheni — bringing pages of history before the spectators through song and dance. The show is part of the „Cultural Summer in the Park” project, the series of events through which the Palace of Culture fills the park’s open-air stage throughout the summer.
„Micul Cluj” is not an accidental name: the park bears the name of the twin city of Cluj-Napoca and has become, year after year, Ungheni’s main open-air venue — from folklore evenings to the Sânziene festival. „On the Trail of Stephen the Voivode” joins this summer calendar, which keeps the audience close to the stage until autumn.
