The first legs of the semifinals in the Ungheni District Football Cup, the „MAGIRUS”, 2026 edition, were played on Sunday, 19 July. At the Mănoilești stadium, FC Mănoilești beat FC Haiduc Bumbăta 2–0, while at Sculeni, in the other semifinal, FC Unirea Cetireni won convincingly away, 4–0, against the hosts FC Sculeni. The results were announced by the Ungheni Territorial Football Association (ATF), the organiser of the competition.
Both scorelines are an advantage, not a qualification. According to the schedule published by ATF, the semifinals are played over two legs — a first leg and a return — and the finalists are settled after the second match, on aggregate. So on Sunday only the first legs were played; the standings on the pitch can still change in the return leg.
Mănoilești, 2–0 in the rain
The match at Mănoilești was played in the rain and ended with a win for the hosts, 2–0 over FC Haiduc Bumbăta. „Not even the rain can stand in the way of success,” the Mănoilești commune town hall wrote in a post congratulating the team and confirming the score. It is a useful advantage ahead of the return leg, but not big enough to make the final already a certainty.
This pairing was expected: the two teams reached the semifinals after the quarterfinal return legs on 12 July, when Mănoilești got past FC Speranța Semeni and Haiduc Bumbăta knocked out FC Bârsa Ungheni.
Cetireni, 4–0 away at Sculeni
In the second semifinal, FC Unirea Cetireni produced the clearest result of the evening: 4–0 on FC Sculeni’s ground. Cetireni had reached this stage after overturning a 0–2 first-leg deficit in the quarterfinal duel with FC Regina Maria Ungheni — and now head to the return leg with a solid lead over Sculeni.
The winners of the two semifinals will meet in the final of the Ungheni District Football Cup, the „MAGIRUS”. The date of the return legs has not yet been publicly announced by ATF.
