2–1 against Unirea Cetireni: FC Mănoilești take the Ungheni district «MAGIRUS» Cup

FC Mănoilești won the Ungheni district football cup, the «MAGIRUS», after a 2–1 against Unirea Cetireni in Sunday's final, on 2 August, at the Municipal Stadium in Ungheni. The team coached by Constantin Timoftică led 1–0 at half-time through Bogdan Andrușca's goal and made it 2–0 in the second half through Valentin Lîsenco, while Cetireni pulled one back in the last passage of play, through Alexandru Duminică. This year's edition brought together 12 teams from the district.

FC Mănoilești won the Ungheni district football cup, the „MAGIRUS”, 2026 edition. In the final played on Sunday, 2 August, from 17.00, at the Municipal Stadium in Ungheni, the team coached by Constantin Timoftică beat FC Unirea Cetireni 2–1.

How the final was played

The match was evenly contested, according to the organiser. The scoring was opened by Bogdan Andrușca, and at half-time FC Mănoilești led 1–0 — a result recorded by the Ungheni Territorial Football Association (ATF) during the match itself.

In the second half, Valentin Lîsenco stretched the lead to 2–0. FC Unirea Cetireni pulled one back in the last passage of play, through Alexandru Duminică.

This year’s edition of the „MAGIRUS” Cup brought together 12 teams from the Ungheni district.

How the two teams reached the final

Both finalists came through two knockout rounds, each played over two legs.

FC Mănoilești had got past FC Speranța Semeni in the quarterfinals, 7–5 on aggregate, then won both legs of the semifinal against FC Haiduc Bumbăta — 2–0 at home and 5–1 away, 7–1 on aggregate.

FC Unirea Cetireni reached the final after the evening in which FC Sculeni clawed back a four-goal deficit: Cetireni had won the semifinal first leg 4–0 at Sculeni, but lost that entire lead at home in the 90 minutes of the return leg. After extra time ended 1–1, qualification was settled on penalties, 5–3.

The awards ceremony

The awards ceremony took place in the presence of local officials and of representatives of district and national football, according to the same source. Among the guests were Eduard Balan, deputy mayor of Ungheni municipality, Teodor Gorincioi, mayor of Cetireni village, Valentina Grosu, mayor of Mănoilești commune, Dionis Cojocaru, director of SRL „Magirus”, Petru Langa, president of ATF Ungheni, Dionis Secrieru, vice-president of the ATF, and Vitalie Barila, the association’s secretary general. The Moldovan Football Federation was represented by Petru Langa as well, a member of the FMF executive committee.


The result of the final, the scorers, the number of participating teams and the list of officials present at the awards ceremony come from the communiqué of the Moldovan Football Federation, with text signed by the vice-president of ATF Ungheni.
