How we verify a story
At Triunghi.md, information becomes news only after we triangulate it. Below we explain exactly what that means and what we commit to for the reader.
The three corners
PEOPLE — Direct witnesses, named officials, experts. Quoted by name and role, not “a source”. Facebook posts are not a document source.
DOCUMENTS — Official acts, decisions, contracts, reports, lawfully obtained public data. We show or precisely describe them with a verifiable reference.
DATA — Figures, budgets, statistics, measurements. We say where they come from and how we calculated them.
What the triangle shows
The triangle beside each story shows how many of the three corners are confirmed: 3/3 means verified from every source; 2/3 or 1/3 means we’re still working on the remaining corners. We publish nothing at 0/3.
When a corner is marked “searching”, it isn’t a hidden weakness — it’s a transparency promise. We say openly what we’re missing and come back when we confirm it.
Sources and anonymity
We protect sources who could be put at risk. We accept anonymity only when justified and verify information independently before publishing. For sensitive tips, see our secure channel.
Independence and conflicts of interest
We do not accept political or commercial pressure on our content. Paid material, where it exists, is clearly labelled as such. We disclose any conflict of interest relevant to a story.
Opinion vs. news
We clearly separate facts from opinion. Opinion pieces are signed and labelled as such; they do not carry the verification triangle, because they express a position, not a finding.
Mistakes and corrections
We sometimes get things wrong. When we do, we correct in the open and record the change in our corrections log. The right of reply is guaranteed.
