For 46 children in Costuleni, the summer holidays have an unexpected address this week: the village library. From Monday, 13 July, to Friday, 17 July, the Costuleni Public Library has turned into a day camp — with games and educational and creative activities, the Costuleni Mayor’s Office announces.
According to the mayor’s office, the 46 participants are spending the camp days “in a friendly, safe environment full of positive energy”. The activities are coordinated by librarian Adriana Leiba, who draws the children into interactive moments, games and holiday experiences.
Who pays
The camp is organised with the financial support of the Costuleni Mayor’s Office and a contribution from parents, and the children are given a snack every day — the local administration notes in the announcement published on Wednesday, midway through the camp week.
The library, more than just books
The Costuleni format — the village library serving as a holiday centre — answers a practical problem: not every parent can afford paid camps or the trips to Ungheni. An organised week, with a schedule and supervision, right in the village, is for many families the only “camp” within reach.
The initiative adds to the raion’s (district’s) holiday offering, which this summer also includes the “Prietenia” day camp in the town of Ungheni, the “Childhood in Little Cluj” cultural programme and the theatre camp at TeatrUngheni.
