The 48-square-metre carpet made by “Covoare-Ungheni” has officially become the largest woven carpet in the Republic of Moldova. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced the record at the “Produs Autohton” National Exhibition, which opened on 28 August at CIE Moldexpo.

It is the first record registered at the exhibition’s second edition, according to the CCI. The company’s preparations for the record attempt are documented in the pre-event article.

Moldova’s largest carpet manufacturer

“Covoare-Ungheni”, Moldova’s largest carpet manufacturer, has been operating since 1980 in Ungheni, within the “Ungheni-Business” Free Economic Zone. Under the Moldabela brand, the company exports WOOLMARK-certified wool carpets to five continents and employs around 127 people.

The “Produs Autohton” exhibition brings together over 300 producers from all regions of the country from 28 to 30 August. Admission is free.
