At the Palace of Culture in Ungheni, young people discover rare crafts — origami, quilling and the art of pressed flowers

A creative workshop at the Palace of Culture gathered young people in Ungheni around four techniques with surprising stories: the Japanese folding of paper, the paper filigree once rolled on goose quills, the «painting» from pressed flowers once practised by samurai, and découpage. In Ungheni, a Prut river raid shows what stays banned for fishing after the spawning ban

Environmental inspectors from Ungheni and the Border Police carried out fresh raids against illegal fishing on the Prut under the "TRITON 2026" operation and issued penalties — without saying how many. A second merger pole in Ungheni district: Sculeni gathers four communes, one from Fălești

Alongside the municipality of Ungheni, a second bloc is taking shape in the district: the commune of Sculeni is merging with Cioropcani, Buciumeni and with Taxobeni — a commune from the neighbouring district of Fălești. The Secretary General of the Government, Alexei Buzu, promoted the merger in a video; the decisive votes are expected by the end of July.
