The Slavena bus station in Ungheni: what the ANTA Order and the Municipal Council's decisions show

The Slavena bus station at Decebal 19/B in Ungheni has been registered with ANTA since September 2025, the agency confirms at the request of Triunghi.md. The applicable regime is notification, not authorization; the revocation of the Municipal Council's decision does not constitute grounds for removal from the register. The City Hall, which requested the removal, issued positive endorsements in 2026 for routes from the same bus station. The Council's urban-planning objections — commercial zone, no zonal plan, safety — fall outside ANTA's competence.

The sixth edition of the children's and juniors' competition brought together athletes from five countries — the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Estonia and the United States — and had a commemorative character. The tournament is organized by the Ungheni Sports School and the Zagarancea commune town hall, with the support of the Ungheni District Council.

Delia, the lake with an open beach and untested water: dead fish in early August

In early August, a fish die-off occurred in Ungheni's Lake Delia. On the shore of the same lake, the municipal beach has been open since 21 June, with lifeguards — even though the Public Health Centre says the area has no sanitary permit, that in 2026 not a single water sample was taken and that swimming ought to be banned. What the documents say, what the institutions say, and where you can still swim.

A new parking lot on Decebal Street in Ungheni: merchants bought the 46,000-lei paving, the city hall paid for the labour

On Decebal Street, across from the former boarding school, a public parking lot is being built through a cofinancing arrangement: nearby merchants and entrepreneurs bought 175 square metres of paving, worth 46,000 lei, while Ungheni City Hall paid for the labour and the other materials. The work, carried out by Servicii Comunale even on a Saturday, addresses a real problem for the town — parking spaces.

What the «Prut heritage strategy» that Ungheni is developing with Iași really is

Ungheni City Hall has announced that it has begun drawing up a strategy for harnessing the cultural heritage of the Middle Prut Valley for 2027–2033. Behind the wording lies a concrete European project: «Gateways for the sustainable integration of the culture of the Middle Prut Valley into European tourist routes», funded through the cross-border Interreg NEXT Romania–Republic of Moldova programme, in which Ungheni is the lead and Iași the partner. The first of the five August working sessions, on 4 August, brought together online over 60 participants from about 50 institutions on both banks of the Prut. A first inventory found approximately 2,500 cultural sites across ten districts of Moldova and three counties of Romania.

Ungheni is building two access roads to its new agri-food market

The city of Ungheni has begun building two access roads to its new agri-food market — one from Decebal Street, the other from Ciprian Porumbescu Street. The work, carried out by Servicii Comunale, is a related part of the 17.5 million lei project that is raising the market, funded through ADR Centru and the National Fund for Regional and Local Development. Their purpose, according to mayor Vitalie Vrabie, is to distribute traffic and ease the congested access from Decebal, near the PECO filling station.

Ungheni launches its 10-million bond issue on Monday: what interest it pays and the minimum you can buy in

From Monday, 10 August, the municipality of Ungheni opens its public offer of bonds worth 10 million lei — the money it will use to repair its streets. After the terms were only draft in July, the National Commission for Financial Markets approved the prospectus on 4 August, and the figures are now firm: 10,000 securities of 1,000 lei each, split into three classes, with interest rates of 9.5%, 10% and one floating rate, over 2, 3 and 4 years. An Ungheni resident can buy from 5,000 lei, and in the first two working days the offer is reserved for individuals. Victoriabank intermediates the subscription.

All 7 kindergartens in Ungheni close between 17 and 26 August for sanitation and repairs

All seven kindergartens in the municipality of Ungheni suspend their activity from 17 to 26 August, according to a mayor's order. During these ten days the premises undergo sanitation, pest control and routine repairs, ahead of the new school year. The decision rests on the Regulation on enrolling children in preschool institutions, approved in 2023. One question raised by parents in the comments remains: what those who work are to do with their children during this period.
