Ungheni's new market rules could go to public debate: fees, schedule, spots for producers

On 21 August, at an ordinary session, the Ungheni Municipal Council has a proposal on its agenda: initiating a public consultation on the operating concept of the new agri-food market on Decebal Street. If the council adopts it, residents could intervene, under the law, in the market's rules — administration, tariffs, opening hours, priority for local producers — before they are set. Ungheni's single mayor's office, put on paper: 128 positions instead of 152. Votes start Friday

The document describing how the merged administration of Ungheni municipality and nine neighboring localities would work — 78 pages, published on particip.gov.md — was presented on Wednesday, July 15. The administrative apparatus would shrink from almost 152 positions to 128, yet would be „present in every locality”. The same day, in Rădenii Vechi, residents discussed the draft decision of the Pîrlița cluster at the village assembly. The voting calendar is already fixed in official acts: Florițoaia Veche — July 17, Pîrlița — July 27, Sculeni — scheduled for July 31.

22 July, the deadline: the Ungheni merger enters its final consultation before the vote

The ten localities set to form a single town hall around Ungheni opened a second public consultation on 2 July — this time on the concrete text of the merger decision, not on the principle. Recommendations are accepted until 22 July, and the document is public on the national platform particip.gov.md. It is the last stage before each council votes. In the villages, the first discontent is surfacing: in Costuleni, the most-liked comment compares the process to collectivisation.

Ungheni residents pick how the Palace of Culture will look: two options, voting until Wednesday morning

Ungheni City Hall has opened a public vote on the exterior look of the Palace of Culture, now undergoing an energy-efficiency overhaul. There are two façade options — one in light tones of cream, light grey and wood, the other with a contrasting anthracite grey — and residents can choose through an online form until Wednesday, 1 July, 8.00. The works are part of a cross-border project with Iași, funded through Interreg.
