ANSA lays rabies vaccine baits for foxes until 2 November: dogs and cats should not roam freely for two weeks in vaccinated areas

The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) is distributing rabies vaccine baits for wild foxes by hand between 20 October and 2 November 2026. The agency recommends leaving baits where they are found or moving them with gloves, and keeping dogs and cats from roaming freely for two weeks in areas where baits were laid. Ungheni district had three rabies outbreaks between late July and mid-August.
