50 localities in Ungheni district have water, only 7 have sewerage too — what the 598-million programme brings
The government has approved a national water and sanitation programme for 2026–2030, with an estimated cost of around 598 million lei and European-style targets: safe water for at least 95% of the population and sewerage for 65%. Data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows exactly where Ungheni district stands: 816 kilometres of water network and only 119 of sewerage, and out of 50 localities with a water supply, only 7 also have a sewerage network.
