Silver at Mamaia for the youngest footballers of Ungheni Sports School

The group of children born in 2018 — the youngest athletes at Ungheni District Sports School — returned with the silver medal from the ‘Junior Mamaia Cup’, a children’s football tournament held in Mamaia, Romania. It is the youngest link in a district school that, in the same summer, promoted its U16 juniors to the National League and that already held, since 2023, a national bronze in beach football. Behind the trip are coach Constantin Lungu and the parents who accompanied the little ones.

Bușila, Chirileni and Negurenii Vechi want to merge: three mayoralties into one, above the 3,000-resident threshold

Three neighbouring communes in Ungheni district — Bușila, Chirileni and Negurenii Vechi — have started the voluntary amalgamation process and are now consulting their residents. The idea of a single administration for three villages divides people: some see it as a chance for better services, others fear they will lose their home mayoralty. Here is what has been decided so far, what comes next and what the two camps say.
