The third conscription stage begins in Ungheni, from a youth pool 64% smaller than ten years ago
The Ungheni Territorial Military Centre has announced that from 22 June it is running the third stage of conscription into compulsory military service — part of a national campaign calling up to 1,200 young men. Beyond the administrative notice, National Bureau of Statistics figures show how shrinking the recruitment pool is: the number of men aged 20–24 in the Ungheni district has fallen by almost two thirds in a decade.
